I think we can all agree that 2020 has been one of the strangest years and although we are easing out of some restrictions, we find even more are in place. You may have visited your Dental Hygienist or Dental Therapist regularly every few months and now haven’t been for over eight months!? DO. NOT. PANIC.
You may have noticed your gums are bleeding a bit more often or your breath is starting to taste or smell unpleasant. This is caused by some of the harmful bacteria in the plaque that is building onto your teeth.
How do I stop it?
Brush twice a day with an electric toothbrush
Make sure you are using something to clean between your teeth. For example; floss or coloured interdental brushes.
Don’t let bleeding gums stop you
You may find for a few days there is more bleeding or tenderness around your gums, DO NOT let that put you off doing it. If you are able to do this twice a day then your hygienist or therapist will be eternally grateful, and you will notice your gum health improving in no time.
When will I be able to see my hygienist?
With lockdown easing, more routine treatments, including dental hygiene treatments, can be provided. Here at Cherrybank Dental Spa in Perth, we are now able to offer our full range of hygiene services so call the practice today to arrange an appointment with one of our friendly Dental Therapists.
